It is an African-American cemetery. The information was provided to me by Mr. Lee Warner. There is two names that this cemetery goes by, Mount Zion Free Will Baptist Church cemetery, named after the church. Also, Bear Creek Cemetery. Mr. Warner said, " that the land was donate by Mr. Leslie Self an Anglo-Saxon man. Mr. Self gave the land to Mr. Caleb Vining. Later after the old man Self, found out the Caleb Vining was not a member of any church he took the land back from him and gave it to. Busco Edwards, Andrew Williams, Freddie Marshall and Wash Warner. This cemetery sit on 3 acres of land. Records can be founded in the St. Helena Courthouse. 1.
