Personal Digital Archiving Day Workshop with Leonard Smith III

Libraries and other institutions can use Preservation Week to connect our communities through events, activities, and resources that highlight what we can do, individually and together, to preserve our personal and shared collections.
Preservation Week 2014 will take place April 27 through May 3.
Get involved! You don't need a lot of time or money, you just need to get started.
  • create a display about preserving and collecting personal, family, or community heritage
  • offer a preservation workshop or event
  • highlight Preservation Week on your website with a logo linked to ALA’s Preservation Week resources
  • Tweet about Preservation Week #preswk.
Please join Digital Storyteller Leonard Smith lll for an upcoming workshop at the New Orleans Public Main Library on May 3, at 10:30 a.m to 1:00 p.m. Our photo albums, letters, home movies and paper documents are a vital link to the past. Personal information we create today has the same value. The only difference is that much of it is now digital. Come to the free workshop and learn how to digitalize your family records with Leonard Smith III. This workshop is sponsored by the African American Resource Center.
